Tournaments

We run a variety of football and futsal tournaments across Tokyo. These are held in English and Japanese. We welcome individual participation as well as corporate and embassy teams and groups.

Standard team entry fees for tournaments are ¥25000. Discounts available for returning teams.

Levels

🌸 Sakura – Beginner & Mixed Level

Our most accessible tournament, perfect for new teams and players of all levels – even those who’ve just started playing football. There’s one requirement: every team must always have at least one female player on the pitch at all times. Sakura is about inclusiveness, mixed teams, and a more relaxed yet fun competitive experience.

🥷 Samurai – Open Level

All teams are welcome in Samurai Tournaments. This is our open level, but we recommend that teams and players have some football experience and have participated in a previous MATCH Tokyo event, tournament, or session. A great stage for new teams to test themselves against stronger competition and grow in a competitive setting.

👑 Shogun – Elite Level

Coming in 2026.
